Cam Newton: Considered A Thug Like Trayvon Martin, Tamir Rice, and Mike Brown Were Considered Thugs

Cam Newton has played flawless throughout the regular football season as QB for the Carolina Panthers. Cam Newton threw for over 3800 yards, which accounts for 35 Touchdowns, 10 interceptions, and a 60% completion rating. On top of the best stats in his 5 year career, the Carolina Panthers have only one loss heading into Super Bowl Sunday.

Instead of the world reveiwing Cam's play on the field, the media is completely focused on race.  Cam Newton has been repeatedly called a thug and a nigger on popular social media outlets. The same racist remarks about the 6'6" Black NFL Quarterback are strikingly similar to the racist remarks targeted at Trayvon Martin, Tamir Rice and Mike Brown.  Trayvon Martin was an unarmed teenager killed by George Zimmerman in 2014. Trayvon's only crime was being a black teenager and wearing a hoodie sweatshirt. Trayvon would have been 21 years old on Feb 5, 2016.

Colin Cowherd, and ESPN television personality, compared Cam Newton to Elvis Presley on his tv show, The Herd with Colin Cowherd. Cowherd stated Elvis Presley in his prime was threat to men everywhere due to his good looks, charm, bank account and size. The ladies loved Elvis Presley just like the ladies love Cam Newton. Colin Cowherd stated Cam is threat to all men and somehow avoided the race factor all together.

Tamir Rice was also considered a threat. Not because of his good looks, but because he was a black kid, tall for his age, playing with a toy gun in the park. Without warning, he police jumped from a moving car, shot and killed Tamir Rice.

Regardless of money, social status, fan base, age, education, athletic ability, time or place, race is an issue at all times. The hatred will come no matter how Cam Newton conducts himself in the media, rather or not he dances, or give kids footballs after he scores a touchdown. Race matters.

So as long as Cam is making everybody mad, he may as well "Dab" a little harder next time. Dance little longer after a score nex time. And most importantly, "Smile" a little bit brighter after the Carolina Panthers beat the Denver Broncos in Super Bowl 50. I'm sure Trayvon Martin, Tamir Rice, and Mike Brown will be cheering for Cam Newton and "Dabbing" from Heaven after every score.
