8-Year Old Boy Attempts To Rob Florida Grocery Store With Loaded Gun

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. -

The employees at a Florida grocery store are shaken up after an attempted armed robbery by an 8-year-old boy.

Surveillance footage captured the young boy walking into the store with a motorcycle helmet and a sweater covering his mouth.

According to a clerk, the boy walked right up to the counter, pulled out a gun and demanded money. The clerk said he managed to take the gun away from the boy, and another employee prevented the boy from escaping. The clerk, who did not want to be identified, described the moment he was confronted with the gun.

"He told the cashier 'give me the "F-ing"money," the clerk told local media. "All of a sudden, I'm so shocked, I don't know if it's a real gun or if it's a fake gun, but my priority is to take it away from him because I don't know. I just turned his wrist and took it out from his hand. At that point, another coworker of mine grabbed him."

Investigators say the gun was stolen from his mother. Officers say the incident is still under investigation, but so far no charges have been filed.
