Mos Def Arrested In South Africa

According to TIMES Live, rapper, actor, activist and true-blue artist, Mos Def was arrested last night at an airport in Cape Town while attempting to leave South Africa. The arrest came after Mos Def allegedly used a fake passport in attempting to fly out of the country. He has lived in Cape own since 2009 and is also being charged for violating their immigration laws, having entered the country with a US passport and tourist’s visa.
Mos Def appeared before the country’s Bellville Magistrate Court earlier today, but as of right now, has been given 14 days to leave the country. We’ll be keeping an extra watchful eye on the matter as it develops.
