Two 14-year-old boys were arrested in connection to a pair of shootings in Portland Oregon

Two 14-year-old boys were arrested in connection to a pair of shootings in Portland Oregon, including one that sent a victim running into a KFC restaurant to get help.

Police said the boys were armed with semi-automatic handguns at the time of their arrest at Southeast 127th and East Burnside on Thursday.

Gang Enforcement Team detectives said information collected during the two shooting investigations led them to the two boys.

The first shooting was the afternoon of Feb. 4. Police were called out to the KFC restaurant on Northeast Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard, where a man sought help after being shot.

Detectives said the 22-year-old victim, identified by police as a known gang member, was shot on Northeast Jessup Street and ran to the restaurant. Workers called 911 and he was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Witnesses told police they saw a group of five to seven younger males run from the scene.
