Bobby Womack On Soul Train in 1973











Bobby Womack, legendary soul singer, has passed away at age 70. The cause of death was not announced, but it is certain he suffered from cancer and Alzheimer's.

In the video above, Womack interview by Don Cornelius on an episode of Soul Train in 1973. Soul Train was the first outlet for soul artist to showcase their talent on national T.V. The interview concluded with Womack singing the sultry sounds of Across 110 Street.

Bobby Womack was born in 1944 in Cleveland, Ohio and began singing in the church in the 1950's.
He later signed a record deal with secular music company in 1960. He also found work as a songwriter and guitarist for Aretha Franklin, Sly Stone, the Stones, Rod Stewart, Joe Tex and many more in the 1960s.

Bobby Womack was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2009.
