Shabazz Napier got everybody's attenion at the trophy ceremony and stated, "This is what happens when you ban us, we become hungry. Ladies and Gentlemen, The Hungry Huskies." Fans screamed in approval.

Shabazz Napier scored 22 points and Connecticut won its second NCAA title in four years.

Napier is among three UConn seniors who were part of the Huskies' 2011 title. That trio stayed after coach Jim Calhoun's retirement even when the Huskies were ineligible for the NCAA tournament last season.

Coach Kevin Ollie's second season, and the Huskies (32-8) went all the way to their fourth overall title. During the season, after a lost to Southern Methodist University, Ollie took his team to the site where the final four is held in Dallas. He told his team they would be cutting down the nets if they believed. Some call it destiny.

Kentucky (29-11), with five freshmen starters, never led in the championship game. In order for Kentucky to make it to the finals, they beat Witcha State, Louisville, Wisconsin, and Michigan. All schools were ranked higher than Kentucky.
